INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES (ADVANCE ACCOUNTANCY)

Objectives

  1. To create for the students of the University of Mumbai an avenue for employment in the academics and also to benefit Industry by providing them with suitably trained persons in the field of Accounting & Finance.
  2. To prepare students to exploit opportunities being newly created in the accounting field.
  3. To provide adequate basic understanding about accounting & finance education to the students.
  4. To give adequate exposure to the operational environment in the field of accounting & finance.
  5. To inculcate training & practical approach by using modern technology amongst the students in the field of Accounting & Finance.

Master of Commerce (Advanced Accounting)

The University of Mumbai offers Masters of Commerce as a natural extension of the undergraduate course in Commerce i.e. B.Com. The most common specialization are in Advance Accountancy, Business Management and E-Commerce. Till very recently the Masters programme was offered by the University in its department and Institute of Distance Education. It is only in the last few years that the University permitted its affiliated colleges to offer this program at the college level.

SVKM's Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics was earlier a center for conducting contact lectures for the M.Com. programme offered by University of Mumbai. Keeping in view the growing demand by our students to start the M.Com. Course, we at NM College applied to the University and the Government seeking their permission and approval to offer the M.Com. Course to the students. I am very pleased and proud to inform you that beginning this academic year 2010-2011, we are offering the M.Com. Course to our students.

The course aims at providing specialization to the students in the field of Accountancy, Management and E-Commerce. The course contents are designed keeping in view that the course is a natural of the undergraduate course. The syllabus takes care of the requirement of the industry as well as the academia.

The faculty at NM College has understood the course completely to build a perfect platform for students and works as a friend, philosopher and a guide. N M College will definitely become a leading college offering the M.Com. Course.
